Description
The Schooner America is a replica of the original schooner which won the first America’s Cup. The first race in 1851 was known as the Hundred Guinea Cup until America won. After her victory, this international race became known as The America’s Cup and replicas have been built to honor the original schooner’s famous finish against the Royal Yacht Squadron of England. Today’s cup racers have nothing in common with the original schooner, but this replica has something in common — a carbon fiber rig hidden beneath her wooden spars.
